Ronald Max Davis

Ronald Max Davis, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2026 in Bellaire, MI. He was born on July 14th, 1932 to Clarence and Alice (Metz) Davis in Clarksburg, WV. At ten years old the family moved to Detroit, where he’d meet his lifelong friend, Don Miller. He went on to meet the love of his life Emma Jean (Walker) Davis there as well. Marrying her, and spending the next 74 loving years together. Ronald enjoyed a long and successful career in the trades, working in sheet metal. He was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 292, where he served as Vice President. During his years of service, he negotiated contracts, organized golf outings, and helped raise money for Dads for Diabetes. Ronald was also a graduate of Wayne State University’s School of Labor Law. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Northern Michigan Antique Flywheelers Club, and was a Freemason. Ronald’s love of hunting, boating, and golf brought him to Kalkaska, where he purchased a cabin and 40 acres of wooded property in 1961. He spent 32 years living between Kalkaska and Florida during the winter months. A true family man, Ronald especially cherished time spent with his grandsons. He loved taking them to McDonald’s, searching out the best hot dogs, giving golf cart rides, and berry picking around the property. Ronald had a generous heart and was always willing to help family, neighbors, his coworkers, and many charitable causes. He continued golfing until the age of 90 and could often be found relaxing in his barn, enjoying a beer and a cigar. Above all, Ronald was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He adored spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ronald is survived by his wife; Emma Jean Davis, and his children; Deborah (Greg), Sandra (Robert), and Ron; his siblings Ed (Sharon), and Norma (Lou); grandsons Todd (Amber), Corey, Kyle, Joel, Darrick, Bobby (Chloe), Jessie, and Joseph; great-grandchildren Connor, Samantha, Miles, Alexis, Brianna, Evan, Elijah, Mable, Owen, Axl, Ethan, and Scarlett; as well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alice Davis. A celebration of life will be announced with a date and time to be determined. “May the Lord bless you with a straight drive, a soft landing, and a final putt that drops. Rest in Peace.” Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
