Robert Gayle Sieting

Robert Gayle Sieting, 56, of Kalkaska ended his courageous battle with cancer on Nov. 8th 2019 at home among family and loved ones. Robert was born in Kalkaska on July 26th 1963 to Gayle Sieting and Sharon (Kimball) Sieting. It is difficult to put into words the life of this man. He was so many things to so many people. A Son, a Father, a Brother and a Friend. He had a heart filled with endless generosity and a want to share all good things with those he loved. He was an inspiration of strength and courage throughout his life to all that knew and loved him. Robert graduated from St. Charles High School in 1982. St. Charles was the community of Rob’s youth and following his graduation he moved to California where he perfected his trade as a skilled craftsman and trim carpenter. Robert returned to Michigan in 1996 and chose Kalkaska as his new home, a place that held some of his fondest childhood memories. A place where summers were filled with endless adventures on Grandma and Grandpa Sieting's farm, running through the endless cornfields and forests mixed with mischief in the old barn. Robert enjoyed the natural beauty of Kalkaska and spent much time kayaking the Manistee and camping. Through all of these chapters in his life Rob accumulated lifelong friends both personally and professionally. His genuine love, professionalism and honesty in all matters endeared him to all he met. Robert is survived by his parents, Gayle and Sharon (Kimball) Sieting; children: Trenten and Marie Sieting; fiance Trish (Harley) Molloy; brothers and sisters: Tammi (Ray) Madrigal, Jeff (Amy) Sieting, Kenny Pettyjohn and Kerry Pettyjohn. Rob is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. Rob touched so many lives, their names too many to mention. You all know who you are and the love Rob had for each of you. The funeral will be held at the Evergreen Baptist Church located at 1972 Saunders Rd.; Kalkaska, on Saturday, November 16th 2019. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM with services commencing at 1:00 PM followed by a luncheon. Robert will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska following the luncheon.
