William Raymond Brien

William Raymond Brien, 80, of Traverse City, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021. He was born in Pontiac, MI in 1941 to the late Gale and Velma (Stalter) Brien. William proudly served in the United States Army and then worked as a UPS driver and retired after 28 years. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting and shooting guns, camping, listening to music and watching western movies. He was an upstanding member of the NRA. William loved sports especially baseball and football. He was a fan of the Traverse City Trojans; however, his favorite teams were the teams his grandkids were playing on. William enjoyed the ritual of treating his grandkids to ice cream after their games. He loved his dogs especially Tobey. William had a great sense of humor and was very generous. He will be missed by many. William will be lovingly remembered by his son Timothy (Tara) Brien, grandchildren: Mitchell, Griffin, Alyssa, Kashton, sisters: Shirley (Ted) Bailey, Beverly (Wes) Apatheker, Sharon Carter and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and best friend of 50 years Virginia, and sister Carol Pfifer. Per William's wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
