March 19, 1965 - February 27, 2020
Patricia Lynne LaPointe, 54, of Kewadin, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 surrounded by love. She was born on March 19, 1965 to Kenneth and Sandra (Hutchins) Pyle. Our family lost the strongest mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to a hard fought battle with cancer. With an infectious smile, Patti had an incredible sense of humor and was known for her great one-liners. Patti shaped her life around and for her pride and joy: her kids. She started and owned her own cleaning business to provide for them without missing out on the important parts of motherhood. A strong athlete she carried her love for sports, volleyball in particular, through her whole life and passed her love of the game onto her children. She never missed an opportunity to support the Elk Rapids soccer teams - cooking excellent team dinners and cheering them on from the sidelines. She was a 4-H leader and was incredibly invested in her community, diving headfirst into all of her commitments. Above all, family meant everything to Patti. She is survived by her children, Spencer (Elizabeth), Mylia, and Seth and her newborn grandson, Henry. Her mom; Sandra Pyle, her sisters; Vicki (Tim) Luckey, Jill Pyle and Bobbi Jo Pyle. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Amber (Luciano) Marsh, Jordan (Dee) Birgy, Ashley (Dustin) Wheeler, Ally Jo, Abigail, Lily, Johanna, Landon, Bennett, Brooklyn, Clara and Briggs, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She leaves behind a host of incredible friends. She is preceded in death by her father; Kenneth Pyle and grandparents; Beulah Ames, Harry J. Hutchins, Rosston & Cyreda Pyle. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 3rd from 3-8PM at Kalkaska Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, March 4th with final visitation beginning at 11 AM at Kalkaska Funeral Home with Linda Bridson officiating the service. Pallbearers include: Tim Luckey, Luciano Marsh, Dustin Wheeler, Jordan Birgy, Jim LaVeck, John Hutchins, Norman "Buzz" Hutchins, and Tim Woodin. Burial will take place in the spring at Boardman Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Power on for Patti, checks payable to Sandi Pyle. Arrangements are being handled by Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
