Myron Job Priest
February 14, 1937 - September 21, 2021
Myron Job Priest was born on February 14, 1937, in Kalkaska, Michigan as the fourth child to Alger and Susie Priest. He attended and graduated from Kalkaska high school in 1956, served in the United States Army, and built a 28-year career as a draftsman at Wayne Wire Cloth Products in Kalkaska. He was married to his wife, Elizabeth Cotton-Priest, on November 26, 1966, and they had five children together: Mark, Mary Beth, Daniel, Sarah, and Rebekah. Myron raised beef cattle and chickens for years, was an avid mechanics enthusiast, and enjoyed the outdoors in his garden, while cutting firewood, shoveling snow, and riding his tractor. He was known to his family as a man who never complained, loved his ice cream, could fix anything, and always had a pocket knife or two at the ready to open his Christmas presents. Myron is survived by the legacy of his family; his wife of nearly 55 years, Elizabeth, his children and their spouses; Mark and Lynette Priest, Mary Beth and Marc Jones, Daniel and Randi Priest, and Sarah and Matt Lawrence, his seventeen grandchildren, and his siblings David, Roger, and Delmer. He was greeted in heaven by his parents, his sister Margaret, brother Herbert, and youngest daughter, Rebekah who passed before him. A public visitation will be held at 1:00 with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 on Saturday, September 25 at the Church of the Nazarene, 1367 W Kalkaska Rd, Kalkaska, MI 49646. Cards and gifts of condolence can be sent to Elizabeth Priest at 4576 Croy Lake Rd Mancelona, MI 49659. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
