Michael John Martin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Michael John Martin, 53, of Fife Lake, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Mike was born in West Branch to David and Cheryl Martin on August 24, 1967. He graduated from Suttons Bay High School and served our country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was a loving husband, father, stepdad and Papa. Mike was known as a good man who never gave up and cared deeply. He was a lot of fun to be around and was always making jokes. His hobbies included fishing, hunting with his son Cody, collecting guns, snowmobiling, and gator fishing. Mike enjoyed his dogs Jaxx, Ruger, and Skipper. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dori (Kepsel) Martin; children Amber Martin (Alex) and Cody Locke; stepchildren Eva (Cody) Gray, Scott Grams (Danielle), Alexander Schmidt, Travis (Robin) Roberts; parents David and Cheryl Martin; grandchildren Brae Lynn, Elaina, Cody, Jakeb; siblings Michelle Martin of Detroit, John (Joanne) Shaffer of Ohio, Chris (Tiffany) Shaffer of Florida, and David Martin Jr of Florida; cousin Robert Horvath; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Randy Shaffer. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
