Marylou Delancey

Marylou went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2014. She dearly loved the family that God had given her. Marylou was born on May 30, 1931 to Grant and Mary (DeForest) Winters of Kewadin. Her twin brother Burton was born one hour before she was. She is survived by her husband Merel Delancey of whom she married on November 24, 1956. Also surviving her are her children Linda and George Gregg of Manton, Lee Delancey of Traverse City, Dorothy and Michael Belvitch of Fife Lake, and Jack and Shelly Delancey of Kingsley. Her grandchildren are Tom and Leona Gregg as well as Saunice and Tim Musselman, all of Manton, Sarah and Luke Ferrett of Gaylord, Jerica and Luke Gillett of Rapid City, Jessi and Dakotalee Salmons of Traverse City, Byron Delancey of Indian River, Kristen and Joshua Bitson of Fife Lake, Jami, Chloe, and Jonny of Fife Lake, David, Alisha, Faith, Anika, and Zoey of Kingsley, and several Great and Great Great-Grand kids. Also surviving her is her brother Myron and Joyce Winters of Elk Rapids; her sister Marjorie and Max Davis of Berrein Center; and her twin brother’s wife, Delores Winters of Traverse City. As well as many nephews and nieces, brother-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, cousins, friends, and a great church family. She was preceded to glory by her parents, her first husband Guy (Jack) Rauch, her sister and husband Audrey and Nelson Stites, her sister and husband Hilma and Chuck Harrington, her twin brother Burton, her brother Allen and her nephew John Harrington. Marylou was a member of the Fife Lake Baptist Church for many years. During that time, she served her Lord as Sunday School teacher for fifty plus years. Four of those years were spent teaching the Primary class, three years in Junior 2, and the rest were spent teaching 2-6 year olds, which was her passion. She also served her Lord teaching junior church, as well as being the church treasurer, financial secretary, helping clean or anywhere else help was needed. She operated a day care in her home for seventeen years and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with those kids. She counted it a blessing to know and care for all her seventy-three boys and girls. In her later years she worked at Little Caesars for 5 years. In 2012 she joined the Victory Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, April 14, at Victory Baptist Church, South Boardman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Victory Baptist Church, with final visitation beginning at 10 :00 a.m. Pastor William McQueen will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church Youth Fund, envelopes will be provided. Arrangements were entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
