Larry Lee Wells, 80, of Kalkaska, passed away on March 21, 2016 at home with his wife by his side. Larry was born on June 26, 1935 to the late Minor Walter and Mildred (Rosenburg) Wells. Larry has many memories that he has made over his 80 years of life; fishing, boating, traveling, farming, tractor pulling, making maple syrup, his children, grandchildren and great grand children. He worked for 35 years at GM retiring in 1986. Larry married his high school sweetheart Marlene Mae Thomas on June 18, 1956 in Grayling. Larry is survived by his children Kandy Wells of St. Clair Shores, Kevin (Nona) Wells of Kalkaska and Nanette (Paul) Allen of Colton, California, 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Bernard “Dale” Wells and Gerald “Jed” Wells. A Memorial Service will take place at 1pm on Monday March 28, 2016 at the Spencer Church of Christ. Interment will take place at Excelsior Township Cemetery later in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
