James Adrian “Jim” Wells, 76, of Williamsburg, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Munson Medical Center. He was born on August 4, 1942 in Muskegon, to the late Adrian and Nina Wells. The family moved to Kalkaska while Jim was in high school and he graduated in 1960. After going to college at Ferris State for drafting, Jim worked for Traverse City Ironworks. He later worked for Shell Oil and finally went on his own as a consultant in the Oil and Gas industry. He attended Church of the Living God in Traverse City for many years and most recently was a member of New Hope Community Church in Williamsburg. Jim loved cars and motorcycles especially in his younger years. He was a strong believer in holistic health and loved to help others. Jim was the ultimate optimist, making the most he could out of every day; he was an inspiration to those who knew him. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, and loved sunsets. Jim is survived by his two sons Randy Wells of Williamsburg and Dan (Kellie) Wells of St. Charles, IL; 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Sean, Kendra, Keegan, and Mackenzie; brother Robert (Bev) Wells and sister Sally Richardson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law Jack Richardson. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Community Church. A memorial service will be held at 3pm Friday, October 12, 2018, friends and family may gather from 1-3 pm at New Hope Community Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
