Gary Eugene Roessler, 77, of South Boardman, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2016 at home. He was born on July 22, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Frank and Ruth (Cutter) Roessler. Gary proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1957-1961. He served his community by being president of the Forest Area Business Association, Forest Area Boosters Club, he was a Youth Group Leader at the Methodist Churches and was the "#1 Bus Driver" to many. Gary and wife Marci owned Forest Area Floral and he touched many lives making people happy, consoling others and giving away "free flowers". Gary is survived by his loving wife Marci (Murphy); his children: Torrie Miller, Tammy Seaman, Gary M. (Dorann) Roessler, Jeffry (Sonia) Barksdale, Juli (Paul Losey) Newland, and Johnner (Stephanie) Roessler. Gary loved his grandchildren with all his heart: Michael (Angie) Miller, Jana (Jeremy) Balliet, Gary M. (Corrine Beckman) Roessler Jr., Kayleigh Roessler, Brittanie (Jeffrey) Vik, Samantha Barksdale, Brandon Newland, Lake Barksdale, Brooke Newland, and Kaden Barksdale; great grandchildren: Eric Balliet, Ellie Balliet, Kali Kelly, Paige Balliet, and Josiah Miller. Gary was the brother of Barbara Parker of Kentucky, Frank (Reva) Roessler of Indiana, and Terrie (Jim) Bumpus of Texas. Brother in law of Steve Murphy of Texas and Mary Lou Jones of Greenfield, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his first wife Suzanne, the mother of Torrie, Tammy and Gary, his sister Sandy Goldberg, sons-in-law Richard Miller and Michael Seaman, and brother in law Ray E. Jones. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to South Boardman American Legion or South Boardman United Methodist Church, PO Box 118, South Boardman, MI 49680. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Today, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the American Legion Hall in South Boardman. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
