Gary S. Packer

Gary S. Packer, 57, of Rapid City, Michigan passed away on Monday February 21st, 2022 at his home. Gary was born on December 31st, 1964 in Flint, Michigan to Robert Lee and Kathleen P. Packer. Gary was a loving son and was known for being a kind-hearted person. He was a giving and caring person and had a great sense of humor. Gary loved the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing and hunting. He shared his love of the outdoors with his grandchildren who would fish and hunt with him whenever they could. Gary is survived by his long-time companion Dorothy (Dot) McDiarmid and her three children, sons Jeremy, Marti and daughter Katie as well as 13 grandchildren. Also survived by mother Kathleen Packer; siblings Bill (Teena) Packer, Dan (Jill) Packer and Deb Packer; nieces and nephews Dan, Denise, Sarah, Erika, Michelle and Rachelle. He was predeceased by his father Robert Lee Packer and nephew Ryan Lee Packer. In lieu of flowers, the family would like family and friends to consider a donation to the Kalkaska Dialysis Center and the Webber Heart Center in Traverse City. A Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Christ in Rapid City on March 22nd, 2022 at 11am located at 7964 Rapid City Rd NW Rapid City, MI 49676 Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
