Carroll "Coke" Sexton

August 29, 1933 - March 29, 2018

PLEASE SEE THE NEW SERVICE DATE BELOW! Carroll "Coke" Sexton 84 of S. Boardman, formerly from Byron Center, passed away at his home Thursday March 29th, 2018 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Carroll retired from the Marine Corps after serving 20 years, was a veteran of the Korean, and Vietnam wars. Next to his family Carroll loved the Marine Corps, Ford cars, and trucks, and old farm tractors. Carroll enjoyed being a county commissioner of Kalkaska County, the care taker of the Boardman Township Cemetery, and volunteering at the Buckley Old Engine Show. Surviving are his daughter Nancee Sexton Stone and son in law Jeff Stone, sister Dolores (George) Missad; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Terrence Scott Sexton, his wife of 51 years Barbara Chapin Sexton, parents Carrol & Nettie Sexton, sister Norma Fryling, brother in law George Missad, sister Yvonne & brother in law Rex Krausbauer. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00pm, friends may gather beginning 12:00pm, Saturday, April 21st at the Kalkaska Funeral Home, with a military service following. In lieu of flowers please make donations to American Legion Post 219, Attn: Veterans Fund, 10283 M 186, Fife Lake, MI 49633. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
