Carol Ann Pratt
March 21, 1954 - January 18, 2022
Over the 67 years of her life, Carol made a reputation for helping others. She dedicated her career to advocating and caring for those with developmental and physical disabilities. While many had the privilege of calling Carol sister, aunt, confidant, mentor, and friend, her children would like to describe her favorite title: Mom. To sum up our mother in a phrase, she was a woman who loved fiercely and wore her heart on her sleeve. Our mom was an amazingly doting mother, guiding us well into adulthood. Always a person we could come to for advice, comfort, and love, she instilled in us her kindness and selflessness through many lessons throughout our lives. Two of which we would like to share with you. The first, always do the right thing, even when it is difficult. The second, those who have the ability to help others, have the responsibility to help others. She modeled these lessons every day in the way she opened her home to those in need when they had nowhere to go, or in the way she would buy groceries for friends, family, or employees when they had empty pantries at home. In a world that needs more kindness and compassion, our only wish is that you remember our mother fondly, and you face the world every day the way she did- with an open heart and open arms to mankind. Carol is survived by her children, Katlyn Pratt, Shannondoah Pratt, Stephen and Mary Dawn Baker, siblings Neva (Korr) Marconeri, John and Jan Korr, Kathy (Korr)and Fred Bonner, Theresa Korr, Patricia (Korr) Jacobs, and Connie (Korr) Trudeau, along with countless nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Walter Neil Baker, mother and father John and Dorothy (Watkins) Korr, sister Mary Korr, brothers in law Mark Jacobs and Vito Marconeri, and niece Stephanie Jacobs. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Kalkaska Funeral Home.
