Bonnie A. Hawks

January 16, 1933 - June 16, 2022

Bonnie A. Hawks of S. Boardman MI went to her eternal home on June 16, 2022. Born on Jan. 16, 1933 to Eloise (Morgan) Sjerven and Marquise Heath in Flint, MI. Bonnie married Carl A Hawks on July 28, 1951, they owned a photography business where she was receptionist and bookkeeper. They resided in the Flint/Fenton area most of their lives and moved north upon retirement. Bonnie was mainly a homemaker and enjoyed her family, crocheting, crosswords and trips to the Casino. It was nothing to have a houseful of company that she would always cook for. A family favorite was her mac and cheese recipe passed down to her children, baked beans and meatloaf. Her mac and cheese is still made today. She was someone any of her children could talk to with no judgment. A calming voice and quiet presence. A very sweet and kind lady. She enjoyed her weekly trips to Yankee Boy Restaurant for biscuits and gravy. Bonnie is survived by her children Theresa Neihardt of Owosso, MI, Tony Hawks of Flint, MI, Cindy (Dave) Campbell of S. Boardman, MI, Brad (Belinda) of Fenton, MI, Dennis Hawks of S. Boardman, MI, Anita (Glenn) Thomas of Genesee, MI and Sheila Hawks of Burton, MI. She is also survived by her brother Milton (Dorothy) Heath of Mt. Morris, MI. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a few great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-parents Bennie Sjerven and Jane Heath, her husband Carl, and granddaughter Heather Campbell, great-granddaughters Renee Lee and Myah Breed, and sister Ardis Trew. Per her wishes cremation has taken place with no service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
