Barbara Parker, 79, passed away Sunday, June 7th at Kalkaska Long Term Care, surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara was a lady with many talents. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, sewing and many other crafts. When she lived in Kentucky, she crocheted hundreds of hats for the school children of Franklin. She was delighted to drive through town and see children wearing her hats. She enjoyed cooking for family, friends as well as Fellowship dinners and bake sales for her church -Liberty General Baptist in Franklin, KY. Her heart belonged to Jesus! She longed for Heaven and to be with Him. When family members expressed concern for her when she lived alone, she would reply “I’m not alone, Jesus is my best friend.” Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her son Bobby (Michelle) Brill, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, siblings: Frank Roessler, Terrie (Jim) Bumpus, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Jim Jones, son Johnny Brill, siblings: Sandy Goldberg, Gary Roessler. Barbara will be interred with husband Jim Jones in Franklin, KY. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
