Terry R. Sieting

Terry Royal Sieting died peacefully at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, surrounded by his loving family and following his brave battle with cancer. He was born July 18, 1937, in Kalkaska County, the son of Harriet and Kenneth Allen. Following his graduation from Kalkaska Schools in 1955, he enlisted in the United States Army. Stationed in Korea, Terry served as a Specialist 4th Class and was honorably discharged in May 1958. Following his service, he went to Chicago to work for the Rock Island Railroad until he returned to Kalkaska in 1965. As a member of the Kalkaska business community for over 30 years, Terry owned many businesses, including Klumpp Flower and Garden Center, Klumpp irrigation, and Northstar Construction. His many talents were evident, from his “green thumb” for plants, his keen eye for floral arrangements, and his skill with a loader, bulldozer, excavator, and more. He was a licensed builder, real estate owner, and a Kalkaska County farmer since 1979, raising beef cattle and baling hay. Over the years, he was an avid hunter, traveled the country, enjoyed boating, being outside, and just plain life. Since 2003, Terry spent the winter months in Bonita Springs, Florida, remodeling the family home, enjoying friends, family, and every sunny day!! He was a proud, hard-working man with much love to share. He was married on June 12, 1976, to Janet Myers Catt. They raised three sons to work with pride in their accomplishments. He and his wife Janet were active members of the Kalkaska community. Terry is truly missed by his wife Janet, Sons: Dean (Tanya) Sieting, Glen (Gwen) Catt, Chris (Jessica) Catt, Grandchildren: Terry (Olivia) Sieting, Grace Sieting, Ethan Sieting, Olivia (TJ) Stipanovich, Tanner (Tiffany) Catt and Isabel Catt and Great Grandchildren: Reece Stipanovich and Paislee - Sisters: Willodean Golden and Judy Hoek - Nieces: Robin, Kim, and Lisa - Nephews: Jason and Kevin Preceded in death by Parents: Harriet and Ken Allen, Virginia and Jerry Myers, Wife: Buff Kay Eymer, Brother Larry Sieting, Nephews: Larry and Kelly Golden and Kenny Hoek A celebration of life will be held on June 10, 2023. Visitation at 10:00 am. Service at 12:00 pm at the Kalkaska Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in Terry’s honor to Kalkaska United Methodist Church or Kalkaska County 4-H. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
