Stanley James Gauld

Stanley James Gauld, a loving father, brother, son, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, November 7, 2019 at his home in Fife Lake, Michigan. He was 56. He was born Sept 26, 1963 in Traverse City, Michigan to George (Anita) Gauld and Cheryl (Abe) Days-Churbe. Survivors include his children: Travis Gauld and Nicole (Aaron Ingersoll) Gauld; his parents; three very special grandchildren, Alexis, Baily, and Melody; his Brother Glen and his Sister Amanda Magnuson; Niece Krystina Magnuson; Nephew, Corey Magnuson; and his Life-partner, Angela Adams. His Honorary Family: sons Cody Adams, Dustin (Claire Sevald) Harmer, and daughter Megan (Joe) Green; along with many numerous other loving family, cousins, and friends. Stan was preceded in death by his grandparents; Stanley Arthur and Elsie Gauld; James and Marie Days; Larry Gilfillan; and his sister Julie Angela Gauld. Stan has lived in Fife Lake for most of his life spending a few years in Alaska and Florida. Stan’s love for his children and deep friendships fit well in Fife Lake. He had a smile that would radiate pure joy and could light up a room. One of his greatest gifts was his BIG heart. Stan opened his home to raising foster children and both he and Angela had enough love, patience and guidance to give them. He was funny, a sweetheart and a great person who was an avid outdoorsman at heart. He loved animals and had a passion for people and deep love for all of his beloved family and friends. With his warm demeanor he was a joy to be around. Stan also had a deep passion for fishing, hunting, trapping and sports clay shooting. He will be remembered by all for his homemade carrot cake and baked beans. He possessed a deep passion for cooking and everyone who knew him knew the love he put into everything he made. Community involvement meant something special to Stan, he worked on the Fife Lake 4th of July Committee, Fife Lake volunteer fire department, the hardware store for a while, volunteered as a baseball and softball coach and worked at Wayne Wire Cloth Products at the time of his death. We look back on those special times, that special face, the special man we cannot replace. The word “Step” was not in Stan’s vocabulary - Everyone was family. Just as Cody thought of Stan as his dad - Stan loved him and thought of him as a son and helped raise him since he was 9. “Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.” Cody wrote “RIP Dad. Love you.” Of all the special gifts God has given us in this life, however great or small, God blessed us with the greatest gift of all. He gave us the gift of Stan and all those wonderful memories we have made. Those memories we now treasure and hold dear and close to our heart. “I Miss you Dad” by Nicole Gauld. . . . You never said I’m leaving – You never said goodbye. You were gone before I knew it – and only God knew why. A million times I needed you – A million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you – You never would have died. In life I loved you dearly – In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a special place – That no one can ever fill. Yet of all in which Stan garnered love, there was nothing that could hold a candle to “family,”. . .and there was no family more precious than his. A loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Stan shared the best of himself with every chance he was given. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Thank you God for the gift of family and the treasures of the beautiful memories we made with Stan. With aching hearts, we whisper low, We Miss You Stan and will always Love you so. A celebration of Stan’s life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd from Noon to 4pm at the Fife Lake American Legion Hall. Friends and Family are welcome
