Phyllis Ann Case

Phyllis Ann (Hausler) Case, 89, of Kingsley, passed away on August 6, 2024. She was born on August 3, 1935, in Boyne Falls, the daughter of Floyd and Myrtle (Towns) Hausler. She graduated from Boyne Falls High School in 1953. Phyllis married Merle Case on September 11, 1954, in Boyne City, Michigan and spent the rest of her years in Merle’s hometown of Kingsley, Michigan. She started her career out as a nursing assistant at the State Hospital in Traverse City and then spent the rest of her career working at various assisted living facilities throughout Grand Traverse County. Phyllis enjoyed traveling and camping trips with her husband and family throughout Michigan and the U.S. She looked forward to the annual Boyne Falls Polish Festival and the annual Case Family Reunion. She enjoyed any type of family gathering, especially the ones her brother, Norm, sang at. Phyllis in survived by her children Katie Hausler, Charmaine Michels, Phil (Julie) Case, Carl (Jill) Case, Nancy (Randy) Loukka, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, her sisters Margie Goldsmith and Midgie Follette, her brother Norm (Mary) Hausler, her sister-in-law Sharon Case, and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, of 50 years, Merle Case, her brother Floyd (Oachie) Hausler, her sister-in-law Irene Hausler, brothers-in-law Dan Goldsmith and Alan Follette, her son-in-law Bob Michels and granddaughter Ericka Case. A private family graveside service will be held at Barnum Cemetery on August 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m., with friends and family welcome, at the home of Dave and Lydia Case, 4692 Voice Road, Kingsley. Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’s honor to the TLC Foundation, to support AED’s for 1st Responders, please make checks payable to the TLC Foundation at 8901 Summit City Road, Kingsley, MI 49649 or to Munson Hospice House. The family would like to send a special thank you to the caring staff at the Munson Hospice House, along with their wonderful outreach team.
