Martin Randall Fields

Martin “Randy” Randall Fields, 66, of Kalkaska, passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI, on November 9, 2022, surrounded by his family. Martin was born June 1, 1956, in Flint, MI. He is the son of Dorothy (Gibson) and Martin Fields. Martin married his second wife Elaine Jane (Cron) on October 18, 2015. Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed. He was a hard worker and took pride in a job well done. When not working, he enjoyed visiting friends and family more than anything. He also spent much of his free time hunting and fishing, especially coon hunting, which was his favorite. Randy was a huge baseball fan, he’d watch any game he could and loved to cheer on the Detroit Tigers more than anything. He collected baseball cards and had accumulated over 5000 including a Babe Ruth rookie card. He enjoyed classic country music and watching old westerns. Above all, he was a family man, who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martin will be missed by all and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Martin will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine Jane Cron-Fields; daughter Gina Richards; sisters Helen Azelton, Wanda Carter, and Paula McTeague; brothers Merle Meece, Art Meece, and Earl Meece; granddaughters Kaylee and Lilly Richards; and multiple other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Pamela (Alexander) Fields; sisters Tina Fondren, Joyce Wallis, Florence Tithof, and Ina Eastman; and brother Harold Fields. The funeral service will be held at Kalkaska Funeral Home on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1:00 pm, the family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of service. A burial will immediately follow the service at Star Township Cemetery. Immediately following the burial a luncheon will be held in Randy's honor at the Kalkaska VFW Hall, 408 Hyde St., Kalkaska, MI 49646. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a donation towards the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
