Kimberley J. Skrzypczak

Kimberley J Skrzypczak, 71 years, of Interlochen, passed away peacefully August 29th 2022 in the presence of her family, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in Glory by her son Heath Alyn Skrzypczak as well as her parents, Harry and Loraine, her sister Cindy along with her sisters-in-law, Susan and Vallarie. Kim was born July 27th , 1951 in Bay City, Michigan. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Wayne Skrzypczak as well as her two sons, Matthew David Skrzypczak (Janice), and Dr. Clayton Gregory Skrzypczak (Lisa) along with nine grandchildren, Gabriel, Lucas, and Rachael Skrzypczak, Ashlyn (Gage) Anderson, Noah, Emma, Annabelle, Landon, and Maria Skrzypczak. She is also survived by her two sisters, Ruth (Steve-deceased) Doyle of Grayling Michigan, and Shelby (Bruce) Davison of Anchorage Alaska, brother-in-law Raymond (Barb) Skrzypczak, sister-in-law Marty (Joe) Kanicki, along with many nieces and nephews. Kim was a business partner and CFO of a machine tool company in Traverse City with her husband Dave, while also being a full-time mother to her sons. While being a mother and a business owner, she also found time to volunteer in the Interlochen Elementary School Library creating artwork for the children to enjoy. She was a baseball mom who kept score for every game her sons played. She was a den leader for Cub Scouts along with being a youth leader and volunteer at Bayview Wesleyan Church and New Hope Community Church. In addition to her volunteer work for children, she also was the assistant treasurer for Blair Township and on the board of directors for a local Christian Radio station, WLJN. Kim was an exceptional artist in watercolors and oil painting. She also enjoyed playing the organ, piano and the accordion. She was most at home while she was in God’s Creation catching bass from her pontoon boat, water skiing in the summer, downhill skiing in the winter, campfires on the lake and listening to the loons. Kim was a happy Nana who lived for teaching her grandchildren painting and crafts in her art room and taking them on long golf cart rides through nature to talk about life and her faith in Jesus, which was the cornerstone of who she was. It’s nearly impossible to summarize a life that touched so many people with mere words. Kim was a devoted wife, mother, nana and friend and was loved by all. She will be missed but we know we will see her again! As per Kim’s wishes, no formal memorial service will be held. Instead of flowers or cards, a donation to the Hospice House at Munson Hospital would be appreciated since they did such a wonderful job of caring for her in her final days. Donations may be sent to Munson Healthcare Foundation, Funds for Hospice House, 1150 Medical Campus Drive, Traverse City, 49684. Arrangement have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
