Kim R. Jones

Kim R Jones, 70, of Fife Lake passed away June 24, 2023 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by family. Kim was born in Muskegon, Mi., July 05, 1952. She grew up with her parents, Frank G Keck, and Dewie A (Markley) Ladensack. Kim lived in Muskegon, Saline, New Jersey, Kalkaska and ending in Fife Lake. Kim graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1970 and after graduation, she attended cosmetology school. On July 22, 1972, Kim married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, David (Dave) A Jones. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage and memories. Kim was co-owner and office manager of Dave's business, Jones Trucking and Excavating. They both shared the love of their families, animals, classic cars, and the fire department. In 1987, Kim joined the Garfield Township Fire Department, Kalkaska County, where she was an active firefighter for 28 years, proudly retiring as a Captain in 2015. Kim was also the chiefs secretary and a part of the auxiliary for 41 years. Kim was known to make breakfast for her department after all night calls. Every morning, Kim would have coffee with her neighbor, sister n law, but most importantly, best friend of 55 years, Terri (Robinson) Jones. Kim and Terri looked forward to their yearly Grand Marais trips, especially if they could visit Kims, much older brother, Walter R Keck. Kim and her mother Dewie had the same closeness that Kim gave to her daughters. The relationships that Kim had with her grandchildren was incredible, each one creating their own unique bond with her. Love that will forever live on. Kim had an amazing connection with her nephew, Frank R Keck, who she loved as her own son. To sum up Kim up is impossible, she has left loved ones with some great memories. Some may remember a fire call, a car show, a witty text or a camping trip. Some will remember rodeo days, football games, her laugh and her smile. Some may recall Tanz Haus, a concert, her middle finger or even snipe hunting. Kim was an avid reader and loved to watch birds. She collected teacups, band memorabilia and skulls. She lived to love, especially her families. Blood and band. From a very young age, music was Kims staple. She instilled that into her girls and her grandchildren. She traveled far, and near, for a live concert with her partner in crime. She truly loved her band family, after all, "it’s not just music, it’s family". Kim is survived by her loving husband David A Jones; children: Holly (Chad) Lowery, Andrea (Kyle) Bonter, Shawn (Amanda) Wise; grandchildren: Chase Wise, Shelbie Lowery, Jacob Czuk, Nevaeh Wise, Charlie Lowery and Beau Lowery; loyal pets: Rosie, Daisy, Otis and Edgar; brother Walter R Keck, best friend Terri (Robinson) Jones. nephew Frank R Keck and many other nieces and nephews, whom she loved all dearly. Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Frank G Keck and Dewie A (Markley) Ladensack. Brother PFC Frank L Keck, stepfather Charles Ladensack, beloved sister in laws Margaret A Keck and Linda Rose Keck. Many cherished pets. The family is honoring Kim’s wishes and there will be no funeral or service. In lieu of flowers (we like plants), Kim would want you to donate to your local animal shelter or attend a concert and buy a t-shirt. To know Kim, is to never forget her.
