Floyd W. Hart

Floyd Wayne Hart JR., 67, passed away at his home in Kalkaska, MI on October 9, 2022. Wayne, as he often went by was born April 2, 1955, in Cheboygan, MI. He is the son of Marlyn Sally (Berden) and Floyd Wayne Hart SR. Wayne married the love of his life Cheryl Ann (Morrell) in November of 1978, and started a family soon after, raising one son during their journey together. Wayne graduated high school from Mancelona, and after graduation he joined the workforce. Wayne was a jack of all trades, but carpentry was his true calling, earning himself the title of master carpenter, but Wayne’s true passions lied with his family and the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing all year round, his favorites were ice fishing, steelhead fishing, and salmon fishing. He loved to tell stories and may have mentioned that he had a few spots that were “automatic bites”, although he wouldn’t tell you where they were. Wayne also enjoyed hunting, traveling, spending time with his best pal Jack (his dog) and watching reruns of Walker-Texas Ranger or Law and Order. You would often find Wayne sitting in the stands at any one of his grandkids sporting events. He loved watching the boys play football the most, but would cheer all three of them on at track meets, choir concerts or whatever event they may be involved in. Wayne’s upbringing in a large family made him a family man to the core. While he loves his boys, there has always been a softy when it comes to his granddaughter and great granddaughter. Wayne will be missed by all and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Floyd will be lovingly remembered by his son Joshua (Jennifer) Hart; sister Mary Dawn (Steve) Baker; brothers Rodney (Sheri) Hart, Tim (Phyllis) Hart, Craig (Jennifer) Hart; grandchildren Alyssa (Troy) Hart, Joshua Hart JR., and Jacob Hart; one great-grandchild Peyton Martinez; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Ann Hart; father Floyd Wayne Hart SR.; mother Marlyn Sally Hart; sister Karen (Keith) Lafleche; and brother Gregg Hart. The memorial service will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Mancelona on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a donation to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
