Dianna Seeley

Dianna Seeley, 81, of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 16th, 2023. Born in 1942 to Russell and Kathryn Driggett in Rapid City, MI. Growing up on a dairy farm, Dianna was 1 of 8 children with whom she created many lifelong memories. One that she often fondly recalled was after a long day of work on the farm, “daddy” would take her and her siblings for a dip in beautiful Torch Lake. Upon graduating in 1960, Dianna and her sister Helen Kay decided to move to Traverse City, where she worked as a typist for R.L. Polk Co. up until she met her husband of 57 years at a party out in Rapid City in 1964. They would go on to start a family together in Kalkaska where they raised their two sons Michael and Donald. Her boys were her greatest joys and for whom she was very proud. In 1985, once her boys were older, Dianna decided to go back into the workforce. She began a job at Crafthouse until her retirement in 2001. Here she made many friends along the way. Although being a mother brought her great pride and joy, Dianna was also blessed with being a grandmother. She loved each one beyond words and created many memories of snuggles, board games/cards, and bus rides together to the play place and to get ice cream on a hot summer’s day. Dianna’s love and kindness were felt by those outside her family as well. Whether it was simply bringing the neighborhood kids koolaid and snacks while they played ball in her backyard or the everyday encounters at the local shops where she would greet you with the warmest smile. Dianna made sure you knew she loved and cared for you so much even in her final 2-year battle with dementia, her legacy of love and kindness almost always won each round. She took great pride in not only being a mother and grandma, but also a sister, aunt, and mother-in-law. Her legacy of love and kindness will carry on in those she leaves behind, her sons Michael (Stacey) and Donald (Erin); grandchildren Christine (Leif) Johnson, Rebekah (Mathew) Bolsner, Joel Seeley, Nevada Kelley, Julia Grace Seeley, and Steven Seeley; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Zayland, Leighton, Levi, Hendrix, Mowgli, Mira, Armani, and Bennett; sisters Jacquelin (Bob) Huelett, Mona Saunders and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Kelly; parents Kathryn and Russell; brothers “Chuckie”, Russell, and George; sisters Helen and Betty. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
