Patricia McInerney

Patricia “Pat Mac” McInerney, 84, of Chicago, IL, passed away June 4, 2022 at Bay Ridge Assisted Living in Traverse City with her sons by her side; one in person, one in spirit. Pat was born on April 3, 1938 in Chicago to Peter Bogosian and Gertrude Stewart. Born and raised on the south side, she gravitated to the north as an adult. She was a Chicago City Gal through and through. Pat enjoyed her career as a global immigration relocation specialist for several large corporations, preparing legal documents and making arrangements for foreign employees coming to the U.S. Her greatest satisfaction came from the reunification of family members involved. Above all else Pat loved to read. She would check out ten books from the library each week and read them all, having to keep spreadsheets to track them. She also loved doing word puzzles and playing bridge, belonging to three separate bridge groups that met weekly. Pat was an avid walker. Along with her friends, they would walk outside or inside depending on weather and then go to the local McDonalds for a treat and to “solve the problems of the world.” Pat really loved traveling to northern Michigan to be with her sons and “favorite daughter-in-law.” Feisty, temperamental and stubborn, she will be missed by her family and all who came to know her. Pat is survived by her sons, Bryan (Valerie) McInerney of Fife Lake and Stewart McInerney of Kalkaska; grandson Ross (Katie-Jo) McInerney and great-grandchildren Meya and Draven McInerney all of Sheridan. Also surviving are special friends Sharon Klein, Pat Trevor, and Marcela Darras. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sisters Veronica “Ronni” Callahan and Virginia “Ginni” Hicks. A graveside memorial service will take place June 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fife Lake Cemetery on W. State St across from the elementary school. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the extraordinary staff at Bay Ridge Memory Care and their exceptional care, concern and compassion for our mother. Also for Hospice of Michigan whose immediate response and extraordinary support during all hours of the night and day brought comfort and peace during our greatest time of need. In lieu of flowers, we would like you to say a prayer for all the families dealing with the complications of dementia and for its cure. The family is being served by Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
