Keith R. Ingersoll

Keith Raymond Ingersoll, 71, of Fife Lake, passed away at home Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Keith was born to the late Chauncey and Betty (Thorburn) Ingersoll in Fife Lake, Michigan on July 25, 1950. He was married to Pamela (Hannah) Ingersoll on September 17, 1979. Keith followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps by joining the service. He joined the Navy in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1973. Keith was a talented chef and served most of his time on the USS Sterit 31 DGL Ship. He told many stories about his overseas travels and experiences. He especially liked trying the popular foods sold by Street vendors in the Philippines and Vietnam such as "mystery meat on a stick" and "balut". He was a big family man who loved having "more than you can eat" dinners and BBQs. A natural provider from the start; at his first job, he spent his paycheck to buy meat for his family and would pedal his bike home proud of bringing a dinner surprise. Keith was a master woodworker, bulldozer operator, truck driver, and artist with a creative mind and humor for life. He enjoyed listening to music and having people around with unlimited Budweiser for all to drink and, of course, plenty of pie and sweets for the kids as well as 5 different types of meat to choose from. Thanks to his Navy training, every dinner was enough to feed a whole ship or army. Keith was a man with the gift of gab who was fun-loving and the life of the party. He would sing and dance and randomly propose to the love of his life. He had a big heart for animals and LIFE. He loved going for nature drives and watching TV shows such as MASH, The Rifleman and football. Keith was full of wisdom, loved being a grandpa, and had great fatherly advice. Keith was the peacekeeper and glue of the family. He was always there if you needed him and was a proud man with the Ingersoll stubbornness. He is survived by his spouse Pamela; 2 daughters Amelita (Chris) and Casey; 3 siblings Claude (Mary), Roseanne (Dave), Rex (Julie); 7 grandchildren: Kenzie, Emily, Christian, Brooklyn, Vanessa, Victoria and Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Chauncey Ingersoll; and daughter Miranda Ingersoll. His cremated ashes will be shared in his favorite places per his request and a celebration of life will be held in his honor. He will be missed and forever live through us in our hearts.
